Owls Golf Teams Open Spring Season at LeTourneau Invitational
The William Woods golf teams traveled to Longview, Texas, to compete in the LeTourneau University FST Crossing Creeks Invitational on March 9-10, marking the start of their 2025-26 spring seasons. The Owls men’s team finished third out of 13 teams with a 54-hole total of 876, while the women’s team placed fifth among nine teams with a 36-hole score of 704.
California Lutheran University won both the men’s and women’s flights. The Owls men’s team was just one stroke behind second-place LeTourneau University, which is ranked No. 23 in NCAA Division III. MUW junior Collin Jones, a transfer from Nicholls State, led the men’s team. Jones shot rounds of 72, 70 and 72 for a total of 214, finishing 4-over-par at the par-70 Crossing Creeks Country Club course.
Jones was joined by teammates Nicklaus Ledbetter, who shot 72-72-75 for 219, and Bryce Denley, who finished with 77-74-71 for 222. Ledbetter and Denley finished 11th and 19th, respectively, among the 83 golfers. Alexandre Thery posted totals of 78-78-75 for 231, tying for 35th. Cameron James and Trace Novak both finished with totals of 237, tying for 54th.
On the women’s side, Ashley Estabrook led the Owls with a score of 85-85 for 170, placing 20th. Addi Campbell tied for 27th with 97-84—181, while Isabel Velasquez finished 33rd with 92-94—186. Freshman Lindsey Reimsnyder tied for 39th with 97-97—194.
