Ole Miss Women’s Tennis Falls to No. 10 Oklahoma, 4-0

Norman, Okla. — Ole Miss women’s tennis lost to No. 10 Oklahoma, 4-0, at the Headington Family Tennis Center on Friday evening, according to a university release.

Oklahoma (13-4, 4-2 SEC) took the doubles point early, with the No. 85-ranked duo of Andrea Nova and Emily Welker tied 4-4 with Oklahoma’s top-ranked doubles team before the match went unfinished. The Sooners secured three singles victories on courts two, three, and five in straight sets, clinching the win.

Two of Oklahoma’s singles players who won are ranked in the top 65 nationally. The remaining singles matches were not completed, the university said.

The Rebels, now 6-6 overall and 1-5 in SEC play, will travel to Fayetteville, Arkansas, to face Arkansas on Sunday at 12 p.m. Central time, according to the schedule.

Ole Miss was represented by Nova and Welker in doubles, and Welker, Edda Mamedova, Julia Garcia Ruiz, Andrea Nova, Salakthip Ounmuang, and Riley Crowder in singles. The match details indicate that the Rebels struggled to contain the Oklahoma offense, which dominated most completed courts.
