Ole Miss Women’s Tennis Completes Weekend Sweep Over Alabama

OXFORD, Miss. — The University of Mississippi women’s tennis team posted a 4-0 victory over Alabama on Saturday morning, marking their final SEC home match of the season, according to university athletics.

The Rebels, ranked No. 45, improved to 11-9 overall and 5-8 in SEC play with the win. They secured the doubles point with victories from No. 9 Emily Welker and Andrea Nova, who defeated Alabama’s Kristina Paskauskas and Addison Bowman 6-0. Brooklyn Olson and Beatrice Stagno also contributed with a 6-3 win over the Crimson Tide’s Mary Sidelynk and Amina Salibayeva.

In singles, Alabama surrendered a point when Paskauskas retired due to injury against Welker, ranked No. 18. Ole Miss then clinched the match with wins from Stagno and Crowder. Stagno defeated Mary Sidelynk 6-3, 6-1, while Crowder beat Bowman 6-0, 6-4. Three matches remained unfinished as play was halted.

The Rebels will host Mississippi Valley State and Memphis on Tuesday at the Palmer/Salloum Outdoor Tennis Center, with matches scheduled for 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., respectively, the university said.

Ole Miss’s last two home matches of the season are set for April 7 against Mississippi Valley State and Memphis, with further details available on the team’s social media channels.
