Ole Miss Women’s Golf Opens at Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, Tied for 12th

The Ole Miss women’s golf team, ranked 15th nationally, completed the opening round of the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate Monday at Long Cove Club in Hilton Head, South Carolina.

The Rebels posted a team score of 300, which is 16 over par, leaving them tied for 12th place in the 15-team field. Despite cooler temperatures and windy conditions, Kajsalotta Svarvar shot a 2-under 69, the best score among the Rebels. She is tied for third individually and is one of only seven players in the field to finish under par.

The high winds challenged the entire field, with No. 9 Texas being the only team to shoot under par. Second-round play is scheduled to begin Tuesday at 10:10 a.m. CT, with live coverage on Golf Channel starting at 1:30 p.m., according to event organizers.
