Ole Miss Women’s Basketball Player Cotie McMahon Named to Wooden Award National Ballot
LOS ANGELES — Cotie McMahon of Ole Miss women’s basketball is among 15 student-athletes named to the 2025-26 Women’s Wooden Award National Ballot, the Los Angeles Athletic Club announced Sunday. The Wooden Award, presented by Principal, recognizes the most outstanding women’s college basketball player in the United States.
McMahon, a Dayton, Ohio, native, has garnered multiple honors this season, including a spot on the Cheryl Miller Small Forward of the Year Top 10 Watch List and the Jersey Mike’s Naismith Trophy Women’s College Player of the Year Late-Season Team. She has accumulated 19 total individual awards this season, according to the university.
The senior forward is having an impressive first and only year at Ole Miss, averaging 19.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.0 assists over 30.5 minutes per game. She elevated her performance during SEC play, averaging 21.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.6 assists in 33.4 minutes per contest. With 675 points this season, McMahon ranks fifth on the school’s single-season scoring list.
McMahon has scored at least 20 points in 19 games this season, tying Bianca Thomas’s 2009-10 record for the second-most in program history. The Rebel senior is recognized as a two-way player who has made significant contributions on both offense and defense.
