Kentucky, holding a 19-7 overall record and 6-6 in the conference, is led by head coach Kenny Brooks in his second season. Ole Miss head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin, now in her eighth season, has guided the Rebels to multiple successful campaigns, including a program-best six consecutive wins over Kentucky.
In the series history, Ole Miss leads 29-19 overall and holds a 12-10 advantage in Lexington. The Rebels have won the last six meetings, including a 75-45 victory during McPhee-McCuin’s 100th win at Ole Miss two seasons ago. Last season, Ole Miss defeated Kentucky 66-57 on the Wildcats’ home court, with Madison Scott scoring 22 points in that game.
Kentucky features a balanced attack, with standout players like Clara Strack, averaging 16.1 points and 10.6 rebounds, and Tonie Morgan, who leads the nation with 219 assists. The Wildcats are known for their strong defense, ranking second nationally with 6.8 blocks per game and shooting 36.2% from the field overall.
Ole Miss recently beat Arkansas 80-57 at home, improving to 12-0 at the SJB Pavilion this season. The Rebels have built a reputation for their home-court dominance, winning 39 of their last 42 nonconference games at the venue. The upcoming game against Kentucky is part of a tough stretch that includes matchups with several ranked opponents, aiming to solidify the Rebels’ standing in the SEC and nationally.
