Ole Miss Women’s Basketball Adds Emily Howard for 2026-27 Season
Ole Miss women’s basketball will add Emily Howard to its roster for the 2026-27 season, head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin announced Thursday. Howard joins the Rebels from Boise State as a transfer.
McPhee-McCuin praised Howard, saying, “Emily is an outstanding individual. Her talent is great, but the person she is is what sealed the deal for me. She will impact our program immediately with her size, skill and competitive mindset.”
The 6-foot-5 center played 27 games off the bench during her lone season at Boise State, averaging 2.4 points and 1.8 rebounds, with eight blocks. Prior to Boise State, she spent three seasons at Liberty University.
At Liberty, Howard played seven games in the 2024-25 season before suffering a season-ending injury, averaging 7.4 points on 58.3% shooting and 3.6 rebounds. The Vancouver native previously played three years after redshirting her freshman year, during which she earned multiple honors in high school. Howard graduated from Harding Academy in Memphis, Tennessee, where she averaged 16.9 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game.
McPhee-McCuin noted Howard’s accolades, including being named District Player of the Year as a junior and earning All-Metro Team recognition. She joins Talaysia Cooper as the second transfer addition for Ole Miss, which currently has five players committed for 2026-27, including returners Desrae Kyles, Lauren Jacobs and Sira Thienou.
Ole Miss continues to build its roster ahead of the upcoming season. Fans are encouraged to purchase season tickets and follow the team on social media for updates. The Rebels have made five straight NCAA tournament appearances and are trending upward.
