Ole Miss Track & Field’s Tarik Robinson-O’Hagan Named SEC Field Athlete of the Week

Ole Miss senior and All-American Tarik Robinson-O’Hagan has been named the Southeastern Conference Men’s Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday. The award follows his standout performance at the Ole Miss Classic in Oxford.

Robinson-O’Hagan opened his final outdoor season with a historic throw of 77.62 meters (254-8) in the hammer throw. The effort shattered the facility and Ole Miss records and is the best all-time early-season collegiate throw, according to the school. It ranks second in SEC history, 11th in NCAA history and 16th in American history. For 2026, he leads all Americans and ranks eighth worldwide, the university said.

His impressive weekend also included a winning shot put throw of 20.42 meters (67-0), nearly three meters ahead of the runner-up. The performance marked his third consecutive outdoor shot put over 20 meters since his freshman year. Robinson-O’Hagan’s combined distance in the shot and hammer events totaled 98.50 meters, making him the first collegiate athlete to surpass 98 meters in those events.

Ole Miss track and field will take a week off before splitting squads for upcoming meets at Stanford and LSU’s Battle on the Bayou on April 3-4, the university said.
