Ole Miss Track & Field Prepares for 2026 SEC Indoor Championships in College Station

The University of Mississippi will send its track and field teams to the 2026 SEC Indoor Championships, scheduled for Feb. 26-28 in College Station, Texas. The event will be hosted at Texas A&M’s R.A. Murray Fasken Indoor Track and will feature live streaming on SEC Network+ each day.

Ole Miss’s men’s team is ranked No. 11 in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Rating Index. The Rebels will compete against 11 other top-25 programs, including No. 1 Arkansas, No. 3 Tennessee, and No. 5 Texas A&M. The women’s team is ranked No. 27, just outside the top 25, with nine other top-ranked schools participating.

Ole Miss has a storied history in SEC indoor competition, with 59 conference titles and 86 individual champions. Under 11th-year head coach Connie Price-Smith, the Rebels have achieved their highest finishes in recent years, tying for third in 2025 for the men and finishing as high as fourth for the women in previous seasons. The program has accumulated nearly 1,000 SEC points over its history.

Senior thrower Tarik Robinson-O’Hagan headlines the men’s squad. The three-time NCAA champion is on the watch list for The Bowerman, collegiate track and field’s top award. He currently leads the nation in the shot put with a personal-best 21.18 meters (69-6), ranked fourth nationally and eighth worldwide this season. Robinson-O’Hagan aims to add to his collection of NCAA titles and SEC medals this season.

The Rebels’ men’s throws group is robust, with teammates Mason Hickel and Bryson Smith both ranked in the top 15 nationally in the shot put. Freshman Ashton Hearn has also made an impressive start, ranking 42nd nationally in the event. On the high jump, defending NCAA outdoor champion Arvesta Troupe is competing at a high level, with a season-best clearance of 7 feet 3.75 inches (2.23m).

Ole Miss’s women’s team features junior athletes like Akaoma Odeluga and Skylar Soli, who recently posted PRs in the weight throw. Odeluga is among the nation’s top-10 throwers in both the shot put and weight throw. The meet will serve as a significant test for the Rebels as they prepare for the NCAA outdoor season later this year.
