Ole Miss Track & Field Honors Seniors at Joe Walker Invite
OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss track and field concluded its 2026 season home schedule Saturday at Prefontaine Stadium, honoring its senior athletes while posting notable results at the Joe Walker Invitational. The meet featured a range of personal bests and historic performances across multiple events, according to school officials.
Freshman Patchnalie Compere, who set the Haitian national 200-meter record the previous night, anchored Ole Miss’s best 4×100-meter relay of the season, which finished in 43.65 seconds. The time ranks as the seventh-best in school history and the fastest since the team’s 2024 national title-winning 42.34. The men’s relay team of Dekell Minor, Jordan Urrutia, Tarique Wright and Joshua Knox finished in 39.20 seconds, just two hundredths off their season-best.
Urrutia also earned a victory in the 100-meter dash, running a career-best 10.24 seconds into a -1.6 headwind. Minor finished second with a wind-legal personal best of 10.33 seconds. Wright posted a PR in the 400 meters with a time of 48.26 seconds, finishing seventh overall. On the women’s side, Royanah Farmer led a top-three sweep in the 100 meters with a season debut of 11.65 seconds, followed by Lizzie Hatton and Indya Dotson.
Ole Miss secured three field event titles, highlighted by seniors Tarik Robinson-O’Hagan and Arvesta Troupe in their final home meets. Robinson-O’Hagan won the shot put with a mark of 20.61 meters (67-7.5), while Troupe cleared 2.15 meters (7-0.5) in the high jump. Freshman Ashton Hearn claimed the discus title with a throw of 54.08 meters (177-5). Other standout performances included sophomore Skylar Soli and freshman Carmela Coulter, who excelled in discus and heptathlon, respectively.
The team will next compete at the Virginia Challenge on April 17-18, continuing their postseason preparations. The Rebels’ season has been highlighted by personal records and historic marks, according to school officials, as athletes push toward upcoming conference and national championships.
