Ole Miss’ Tarik Robinson-O’Hagan Remains on The Bowerman Watch List for 2026
Ole Miss track and field athlete Tarik Robinson-O’Hagan is among the top contenders for The Bowerman Award in 2026, according to the Feb. 5 announcement. The award, considered college track and field’s equivalent of the Heisman Trophy, is given annually to the nation’s most outstanding male and female athletes.
This marks Robinson-O’Hagan’s 10th consecutive appearance on the watch list, which he first joined as a semifinalist following his standout sophomore season in 2024. The senior from Ole Miss has previously been recognized as a semifinalist and has now maintained a consistent presence on the list since its inception in 2009, when the award was named after Oregon coach Bill Bowerman.
Robinson-O’Hagan, a three-time NCAA champion, was named SEC co-Field Athlete of the Week last week after setting a personal best of 21.18 meters (69-6) in the shot put at Clemson’s Bob Pollock Invitational. His throw ranks third nationally and fourth in the world this season. The performance also improved his standing in SEC history and collegiate indoor records, bringing him closer to being the first athlete indoors to surpass 70 feet in the shot put in conference history.
He remains undefeated in shot put competition against collegians indoors since the 2024 Razorback Invitational. Robinson-O’Hagan also finished as the top collegiate finisher in the weight throw at Clemson, with a mark of 23.43 meters (76-10.50). He leads the SEC and ranks third nationally in the event this season. His career includes 12 All-American honors, nine SEC titles, and 59 NCAA points.
The next updates to The Bowerman watch list are scheduled for March 4 for women and March 5 for men. Robinson-O’Hagan and the Ole Miss track and field team will compete at the New Mexico Classic on Feb. 6-7 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
