Ole Miss Softball Ranked No. 24 in D1Softball Preseason Poll

The University of Mississippi softball program is ranked No. 24 in the country in the D1Softball preseason poll, announced Tuesday. This marks the Rebels’ highest preseason ranking since 2020, when they were No. 21 according to USA Today/NFCA, and reflects their continued rise after reaching the Women’s College World Series last season.

Ole Miss finished the 2025 campaign with its first appearance in the Women’s College World Series and achieved its highest national ranking, at No. 7, by Softball America. The team is entering the 2026 season with a roster that includes 16 newcomers — 10 transfers and six freshmen. Several key players from last season’s deep run remain, including All-SEC sophomore Persy Llamas, NFCA All-South Region sophomore Mackenzie Pickens, and seniors Taylor Malvin and Taylor Roman.

The Rebels open the regular season on Feb. 5 with a doubleheader at Cal State Fullerton to start the Easton Classic. The first game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. CT. Fans are encouraged to join Rebel Rewards, the team’s loyalty program powered by Coca-Cola, available through the Ole Miss Sports mobile app. The program offers points redeemable for prizes and experiences.
