Ole Miss Softball Ranked No. 14 in NFCA Preseason Poll
The University of Mississippi softball team has been ranked No. 14 in the NFCA preseason poll, marking its highest ranking since 2018, when it was also No. 14 according to USA Today/NFCA, the school announced Tuesday.
The Rebels are also ranked No. 22 in ESPN/USA Softball, No. 24 in D1Softball, and No. 25 in Softball America’s preseason polls. This marks the first unanimous top-25 preseason ranking for Ole Miss since 2018.
The team returns several key players from its run to the Women’s College World Series last season, including sophomores Persy Llamas and Mackenzie Pickens, along with seniors Taylor Malvin and Taylor Roman, according to school officials.
Ole Miss features 16 newcomers, including 10 transfers and six freshmen, as it prepares to open the season Feb. 5 with a doubleheader at Cal State Fullerton. The Rebels’ first games are part of the Easton Classic, with the doubleheader scheduled to start at 7 p.m. Central Time.
