Oxford, Miss. — The Ole Miss softball team heads into a series of midweek games after securing its first SEC series win of the season. Both contests will be streamed via ESPN Plus, according to the university.

Ole Miss is looking to build momentum from its recent success, with standout performances from players like junior Cassie Reasner and freshman Madi George. Reasner is batting .385 over her last 10 games and leads the SEC in infield assists. George has been a power hitter, with a team-high 10 home runs and 31 RBIs through 38 games. Sophomore Persy Llamas also continues her strong season, hitting .380 with five homers and 28 RBIs.

The Rebels have hit 44 home runs this season, averaging 1.16 per game. Last year, they set a program record with 67 home runs in 63 games. Defense remains a focus, with Ole Miss posting a 15-3 record in games without errors. The team faces a challenging schedule, including three non-conference midweeks and nine games against RPI top-25 opponents, such as Texas A&M, LSU, and Mississippi State.

Ole Miss recently made history by winning its first series in Knoxville against No. 4 Tennessee, taking two of three games. The series was marked by strong pitching and defensive plays, including four double plays and clutch catches. Offensively, the Rebels were powered by home runs from Kennedy Bunker and Madi George, along with solid contributions from other players.

The program has earned national recognition, with three players ranked in Softball America’s March Power Rankings. Freshman Madi George is ranked as the No. 11 utility player nationally, while Persy Llamas is No. 12 at first base, and Mackenzie Pickens is No. 14 at second base. Llamas has been a key contributor, hitting .380 with five homers and 28 RBIs, and is close to entering Ole Miss’s top-10 in career home runs.
