Ole Miss Softball Powers Past Central Arkansas with Three Home Runs
Ole Miss softball defeated Central Arkansas 10-2 in five innings Wednesday at the Ole Miss Softball Stadium, improving to 12-5 overall and 2-0 at home, according to university officials.
The Rebels launched three home runs in the game, including one each from Taylor Roman, Kennedy Bunker, and Madi George. Emilee Boyer pitched a complete five-inning game, striking out three Bears and earning the win.
The Bears scored first with a two-run home run in the top of the first inning. The Rebels responded in the bottom half, loading the bases with one out and tying the game at 2-2 after wild pitches. Roman then hit a three-run homer to left field, giving Ole Miss a lead it would not relinquish.
In the third inning, Bunker hit a solo shot to extend the lead to 7-2. Later, George added her fifth home run of the season, pushing the score to 9-2. The Rebels sealed the game in the bottom of the fourth, with Bunker and Roman drawing back-to-back walks before Liesl Osteen delivered a game-ending RBI single.
Ole Miss returns to action Friday, hosting Jacksonville State at the Ole Miss Classic. All games are streamed on SEC Network Plus.
