Ole Miss Men’s Tennis Suffers First Loss to No. 16 Texas A&M, 4-3
COLLEGE STATION, Texas — The Ole Miss men’s tennis team suffered its first loss of the season, falling 4-3 to No. 16 Texas A&M at the Mitchell Tennis Center on Saturday.
The Rebels (12-1, 0-1 SEC) started strong, winning the doubles point with victories from Benjamin Martin and Matthieu Chambonniere, and Stefano D’Agostino and Pietro Pampanin.
In singles play, Pampanin secured a ranked win over No. 108 Alex Frusina, 6-1, 6-3, to give Ole Miss a 2-1 lead. The Aggies responded with wins on the last three courts, including Togan Tokac’s comeback victory over Benjamin Martin in three sets, sealing the match for Texas A&M.
Texas A&M improved to 8-3 overall and 1-0 in SEC play. Ole Miss will continue its road trip Monday, facing No. 18 Oklahoma in Norman at 12 p.m., according to team sources.
