Ole Miss Men’s Golf Holds Third Place After Two Rounds at Watersound Invitational

PAHAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. — The University of Mississippi men’s golf team is in third place after two rounds at the Watersound Invitational, according to results released Tuesday.

Freshman Daniel Tolf from Gothenburg, Sweden, leads the tournament at 10-under par. He shot a five-under 65 in the second round at The Third Golf Course at Watersound Club, including a three-under 32 on the front nine and a two-under 33 on the back.

The Rebels posted a team score of 278, or two under par, Tuesday and are 12-under overall for the tournament. Tolf’s performance gives him a four-stroke lead over three competitors. If he wins, he would be the first Ole Miss freshman to claim an individual title in nearly 11 years, dating back to Braden Thornberry’s victory at the FAU Slomin Autism Invite in 2016.

Tom Fischer contributed for Ole Miss with a two-under 68, placing him just outside the top 20 entering the final round. The team ranked second in par 3 and par 4 scoring for the day.

The final round is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. CT Wednesday with a shotgun start. Ole Miss will look to improve its standing as they aim for their first tournament victory of the season, with updates available on X (formerly Twitter) at @OleMissMGolf, and on Instagram, Facebook, and the team’s official website.
