Ole Miss Men’s Golf Finishes Top Five at Cabo Collegiate in Mexico
The University of Mississippi men’s golf team, ranked No. 13 nationally, competed March 1-3 at the Cabo Collegiate at Twin Dolphin Club in Los Cabos, Mexico. The event featured 16 teams, including eight inside the top 25 nationally, according to the school.
The Rebels aimed to continue their strong spring performance after a top-five finish and an individual victory from freshman Daniel Tolf at the Watersound Invitational earlier this season. The tournament was held at the Jack Nicklaus-designed Twin Dolphin Club, known for its mountainous desert course with scenic views of the Sea of Cortez.
Ole Miss was led by seniors Tom Fischer, Cameron Tankersley, and Cohen Trolio, all of whom are ranked inside the top 60 of the World Amateur Golf Rankings. Fischer, with a team-best scoring average of 70.47, has six top-15 finishes this fall. Tankersley, who secured his first collegiate win at The Invitational at the Honors Course, averaged six rounds in the 60s this season. Tolf, who won the Watersound Invitational, set a career-low 54-hole score of 201, nine under par, and was named SEC Freshman of the Week earlier this month.
Ole Miss finished among the top five teams in the field, continuing its postseason streak that began in 2017. The Rebels’ previous notable achievements this season include winning the Invitational at the Honors Course and sweeping the field at The Invitational at the Honors Course, with Tankersley earning medalist honors.
The team will continue its schedule with upcoming events, including the Mason Rudolph Intercollegiate and the SEC Championship. Fans can follow updates on the Rebels’ season on X (formerly Twitter) at @OleMissMGolf and on other social media platforms.
