Ole Miss Men and Women Rank in Week Four USTFCCCA Indoor Track & Field Ratings
The University of Mississippi men’s and women’s track and field teams are ranked in the top 25 nationally, according to the USTFCCCA’s Week Four Indoor Track & Field Rating Index. The men’s team is No. 12, and the women are No. 25, marking the third time this season both teams have achieved simultaneous rankings, and the 24th in school history.
Ole Miss head coach Connie Price-Smith has overseen 89 of the 122 all-time indoor rankings appearances for the school, including 52 for women and 37 for men. The USTFCCCA rating system uses an algorithm that emphasizes individual performance marks to assess team rankings nationally.
Ole Miss will send its distance medley relay teams to the upcoming Alex Wilson Invitational at Notre Dame on Saturday. The rest of the squad is preparing for the SEC Indoor Championships, scheduled for Feb. 26-28 at Texas A&M.
The men’s team accumulated 68.08 points in the latest rankings. Key contributors include Tarik Robinson-O’Hagan, who ranks highly in shot put and weight throw, and Arvesta Troupe, who excels in high jump. The women’s team earned 36.61 points, with standout performances from Akaoma Odeluga in weight throw and shot put, and Skylar Soli in weight throw.
Ole Miss’s indoor season continues with meets across the country as it aims for strong showings at the SEC and NCAA championships later this season.
