Ole Miss Golfer Daniel Tolf Named SEC Freshman of the Week

Ole Miss golfer Daniel Tolf has been named SEC Freshman of the Week, the Southeastern Conference announced Wednesday. The Gothenburg, Sweden native earned the honor after sharing medalist honors at the Watersound Invitational.

Tolf posted a 201 (-9) total, setting a new career-low 54-hole score and claiming his first collegiate victory. He opened the spring with back-to-back rounds of five-under 65, also a personal best for 18 holes.

The freshman became the first Ole Miss player in nearly a decade to share an individual title during his rookie season. The last was Braden Thornberry, who won the FAU Slomin Autism Invitational in March 2016.

Through six events this season, Tolf ranks fourth on the team in scoring average at 71.53, with nine rounds of par or better and 52 birdies. He is the first Rebel to earn SEC Freshman of the Week since Cameron Tankersley received the honor in February 2023.

Ole Miss returns to competition Sunday at the Cabo Collegiate, scheduled for March 1-3 at Twin Dolphin Club. Follow the team for updates on X at @OleMissMGolf and on Instagram, Facebook, and their official website.
