Ole Miss Freshman Daniel Tolf Shares Individual Title at Watersound Invitational

Panama City Beach, Fla. — Ole Miss freshman golfer Daniel Tolf claimed a share of the individual title at the Watersound Invitational on Wednesday. Tolf finished with a score of 201, 9-under par, tying with Vanderbilt’s Michael Riebe and TCU’s Nathan Miller. The Rebels finished fifth as a team, shooting a total of 833, 7-under par.

Tolf’s victory marks the first time since 2016 that a Rebel freshman earned at least a share of an individual title. The last was Braden Thornberry at the FAU Slomin Autism Invite. Tolf opened the spring with a career-low 18-hole score of 65, which he shot in back-to-back rounds.

Tom Fischer finished tied for 14th at 2-under par, marking his sixth consecutive top-15 finish. The Birmingham, Alabama native was the only Rebel to shoot under par on Wednesday and led the field in par-3 scoring. Fischer has now recorded nine rounds in red figures this season.

Cohen Trolio wrapped up the tournament at even par with rounds of 66, 71, and 73. Ole Miss returns to competition March 1-3 at the Cabo Collegiate in Los Cabos, Mexico. The team will play at Twin Dolphin Club, and updates will be available on the team’s X account, @OleMissMGolf, as well as on Instagram, Facebook, and the school’s sports website.
