Ole Miss’ Christeen Iwuala Named MVP of 2026 Lilly Women’s College All-Star Game
PHOENIX — Ole Miss women’s basketball player Christeen Iwuala earned MVP honors Saturday after scoring 15 points and leading Team Lieberman to a 72-69 win in the 2026 Lilly Women’s College All-Star Game at Global Credit Union Arena.
Iwuala, a senior, was the top scorer for her team, shooting 71.4% from the field. She also contributed eight rebounds and two steals. Iwuala opened the game strong, scoring the first four points for Team Lieberman, and her performance peaked in the second half with nine points and six rebounds. She also made the game-winning free throw, sealing the victory.
“The experience was incredible,” Iwuala said. “I was honestly surprised by how welcoming and engaged everyone was from the start. It felt like a true team effort, with coaches focused on helping us grow and succeed. It was a different atmosphere from other showcases I’ve attended, and I felt like I was coached really well and able to put my best foot forward.”
Team Lieberman’s win marked a notable highlight for Iwuala, who showcased her skills and leadership on the court. The game was broadcast on ESPN2, and footage showed her making key plays throughout the contest.
Ole Miss head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin congratulated Iwuala and praised her performance, noting her dedication and growth during her college career.
