Ole Miss Baseball extends winning streak to seven with series-clinching win over Missouri State

Ole Miss baseball secured its seventh consecutive win Saturday, defeating Missouri State 6-3 at Swayze Field in Oxford. The Rebels clinched the series with the victory, extending their unbeaten streak to 7-0 this season, according to team sources.

Austin Fawley delivered a crucial three-run double in the sixth inning, breaking open a tied game and boosting Ole Miss’s lead. Fawley has driven in seven runs in the first two games of the series. Will Furniss and Tristan Bissetta each collected two hits for the Rebels, who have scored in every game this season.

Cade Townsend started for Ole Miss and pitched four innings, tying his career high with eight strikeouts. He allowed only two hits before being relieved by Taylor Rabe, who pitched 3.1 innings and struck out three. Rabe earned the win, moving to 2-0 on the season. Missouri State’s Brock Lucas took the loss.

The Bears threatened in the fifth inning, tying the game at 1 with a home run. However, Ole Miss responded with a four-run sixth that included Fawley’s bases-loaded double. An insurance run was added in the eighth on a sacrifice fly by Dom Decker, sealing the victory.

The series concludes with a game scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Sunday, which will be streamed on SECN+. Ole Miss’s next opponent is Southeast Missouri State. The Rebels remain undefeated at home this season, according to team officials.
