No. 21 MC Baseball Loses Series to No. 29 North Georgia

DAHLONEGA, Ga. — Mississippi College baseball lost to North Georgia 17-4 on Saturday, moving to a 3-3 record this season. The Nighthawks improved to 4-1 with the victory.

The Choctaws managed eight hits, including a home run, but committed three errors in the field. Alex Johnson led MC with three hits, including a double and his third home run of the season. Cade Gadman added a hit and two RBIs, while Tyler Sanderson and Gavin Baxter contributed two hits and a double, respectively.

North Georgia took an early lead, scoring seven runs through three innings and extending the lead to 8-1 by the end of the fourth. The Choctaws scored their first run in the top of the fourth when Will Langston singled to score Sanderson. MC added two more runs in the fifth off Gadman’s two-run single and another in the sixth on Johnson’s solo home run.

The Nighthawks responded with three runs in the sixth and six more in the eighth to seal the win. Connor Pittman took the loss for MC, allowing six runs on four hits over two innings. Kevin Cox earned the victory for North Georgia, pitching six innings with five strikeouts and four runs allowed.

Hunter Thompson led North Georgia with four hits, while Schley Gordy drove in five RBIs. The teams will conclude the series Sunday at 11 a.m., with the game set for early morning kickoff.
