Missouri beats Mississippi State 88-64 in men’s basketball
Mississippi State lost to Missouri 88-64 Saturday afternoon at Humphrey Coliseum. The Tigers started strong with a 9-0 run and led 54-23 at halftime. The Bulldogs could not mount a comeback in the second half.
Mississippi State was led by Josh Hubbard, who scored 16 points. Quincy Ballard added 12 points and six rebounds. Missouri forced 18 turnovers, converting them into 27 points. The Bulldogs have yielded a total of 117 points in their last two first halves.
Mississippi State will visit Florida on Tuesday, March 3, with tipoff set for 7 p.m. Eastern Time. The game will be televised on SEC Network.
In the game, Missouri shot 50.8% from the field and 40% from three-point range, while Mississippi State shot 49.1% overall and 26.3% from three. Missouri outrebounded the Bulldogs 38-26 and committed 12 turnovers compared to 18 for MSU.
Josh Hubbard led all scorers with 16 points, followed by Quincy Ballard with 12 and King Grace with nine. Shawn Jones Jr. scored seven points for Mississippi State. Missouri’s top scorer was King Grace with nine points.
