Mississippi Valley State Softball Falls to Florida A&M in Doubleheader
Florida A&M defeated Mississippi Valley State 10-0 in six innings and 8-0 in five innings during a doubleheader at Veronica Wiggins Field in Tallahassee on Friday. The Devilettes remain winless in conference play with a 1-13 record overall and 0-5 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference.
The Rattlers improved to 13-12 overall and 4-1 in league play. Florida A&M leads the series 21-5 and has won 15 straight games against Mississippi Valley State.
In the first game, Michelle Diaz and Kelsey Kaluna-Thomas each had a single for the Devilettes’ only offensive production. Diaz was the only player to reach base in both games, going 1-for-2. Taylor Fuller also recorded a hit, and Hailey Akers drew the team’s only walk of the day.
