Mississippi Valley State Prepares for SWAC Opening Series at Arkansas-Pine Bluff

Pine Bluff, Arkansas — The Mississippi Valley State University baseball team heads into its Southwestern Athletic Conference opening series this weekend against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. The Diamond Devils are coming off a come-from-behind victory in non-conference play, according to team sources.

The series at Torii Hunter Baseball Complex begins Friday with a game at 3 p.m., followed by Saturday’s matchup at 2 p.m. and Sunday’s finale at 1 p.m., the school said. The teams have a history dating back to 2012, with Mississippi Valley holding a 6-3-1 series advantage.

Mississippi Valley currently holds a 4-11 record and is 0-0 in SWAC play. Arkansas-Pine Bluff is 5-12 overall and also 0-0 in league games, the school reported. The last meeting between the teams was on March 10, 2024, when Mississippi Valley won 6-4 at Pine Bluff.
