Mississippi Valley State University in Itta Bena, Mississippi, is hosting a busy schedule of athletic events this week. The Delta Devils baseball team opens the week with two midweek games at Magnolia Field, facing Southeastern Baptist on Tuesday and Rust College on Wednesday.
Following these contests, the baseball team shifts its focus to Southwestern Athletic Conference play, traveling to Lorman, Mississippi, for a weekend series against Alcorn State. The softball team remains at home, hosting Bethune-Cookman in a conference series at the MVSU Softball Field on Friday and Saturday.
In addition to baseball and softball, the university’s tennis teams return to action with rivalry matches against Alcorn State. The men’s team plays Thursday in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and the women’s team follows on Friday at the same location, both continuing their conference schedules.
Track and field athletes will compete on the road this weekend at the Southern Miss Invitational in Hattiesburg. Both the men’s and women’s teams are scheduled to participate in the meet, which provides an opportunity to post strong performances against a competitive field.
