Mississippi State’s Roury McCloyen Earns All-SEC Third Team Honors

STARKVILLE, Miss. — Mississippi State junior Roury McCloyen received All-SEC third team honors following his performance at the SEC Indoor Championships, according to the university’s athletics department.

The Greenville, Mississippi, native threw a personal best of 20.11 meters in the shot put, earning a bronze medal and setting a new indoor program record. He is the first Bulldog to throw over 20 meters in the event.

McCloyen’s mark ranks him fourth in the NCAA and tied for 31st worldwide ahead of the NCAA Indoor Championships. This is his first All-SEC recognition and represents his highest finish at a conference meet.

In addition to his shot put achievement, McCloyen broke the weight throw school record with a toss of 19.94 meters, over a meter further than the previous record.
