Mississippi State’s Roury McCloyen Competes at NCAA Indoor Championships
Fayetteville, Ark. — Mississippi State thrower Roury McCloyen is set to conclude his indoor season at the NCAA Indoor Championships, hosted by Arkansas on Friday and Saturday. The junior will compete in the men’s shot put on Saturday afternoon.
McCloyen, a native of Greenville, Mississippi, enters the meet ranked fourth nationally in the event. He is one of five Southeastern Conference athletes in the field of 16 top NCAA throwers. This meet will cap a successful indoor season for the athlete, who earned All-SEC honors and set two program records.
He became the first man in Mississippi State history to surpass 20 meters in the shot put and 19 meters in the weight throw. The NCAA Championships will be streamed on ESPN+, with live results available on Flash Results.
