Mississippi State’s Endicott, Hughes Earn SEC Weekly Honors
Mississippi State golfers Garrett Endicott and Bryson Hughes received weekly honors from the Southeastern Conference this week. Endicott was named SEC Golfer of the Week, and Hughes was named SEC Freshman of the Week, the league announced.
Endicott finished fifth at the Schenkel Invitational, his best result of the season. The senior from San Antonio, Texas, opened with consecutive rounds of 5-under 67 and posted a total score of 9-under 207. This was his third top 10 finish of the season and his fifth top 20. His first two rounds marked his 34th and 35th career rounds in the 60s, placing him second in program history.
This is Endicott’s second SEC Golfer of the Week award, after earning the honor on March 12, 2025, for a runner-up finish at the Desert Mountain Collegiate. He previously was named SEC Freshman of the Week twice during the 2022-23 season.
Hughes also finished seventh at the Schenkel Invitational, his best finish in his time with Mississippi State. The freshman was the only Bulldog to shoot under par in all three rounds. He closed with back-to-back 3-under 69s, finishing with a total score of 7-under 209. Hughes was steady throughout the event, tying for second-most pars and recording the fewest bogeys while making 10 birdies.
Hughes is the fourth freshman in program history to earn SEC honors. Endicott previously received the award, and Ford Clegg earned it twice in 2018-19. Drew Wilson was honored during the 2023-24 season.
