Mississippi State Women’s Golf Tied for Eighth After Opening Round at Charles Schwab Invitational
Fort Worth, Texas — Mississippi State women’s golf finished 11-over par in each of their first two rounds at the Charles Schwab Women’s Collegiate Invitational, placing them in eighth position at 22-over par entering the final day of competition, according to the tournament’s leaderboard.
Two Bulldogs are among the top 20 individually. Junior Avery Weed and freshman Ines Belchior are tied for 14th at 4-over par. A strong final round could secure each player a top-20 finish, marking Weed’s sixth and Belchior’s fifth such finish this season, respectively.
Freshman Moa Stridh is seven strokes over par entering the final round, trailing Weed and Belchior by three strokes and just two strokes shy of cracking the top 20. Mississippi State will wrap up the tournament Tuesday. Live scoring is available at scoreboard.clippd.com.
The team leaderboard has Stanford leading at 2-over par, with Texas second at 9-over. The Bulldogs are behind teams such as Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, and Wake Forest, all at 15-over par. Mississippi State’s final round will determine their final standing.
Additional players include Izzy Pellot, who is 8-over par, and Lynn van der Sluijs, at 7-over par after two rounds. The Bulldogs’ team score after two rounds is 11-over par, with consistent performances expected in the final round.
