Mississippi State Women’s Golf Finishes Second at UCF Challenge

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Mississippi State women’s golf team finished second at the 2026 UCF Challenge held at Eagle Creek Golf Club. The Bulldogs finished 20-under par, trailing Auburn, which won the event at 24-under.

Mississippi State was led by Avery Weed, the top-ranked collegiate golfer, who finished second individually at 8-under par. Weed shot a 2-under 70 in the final round to extend her streak of under-par rounds to 10 straight. The junior from Ocean Springs, Mississippi, has now earned eight top-five finishes in her three seasons with the Bulldogs and has shot 39-under par this season.

Freshman Ines Belchior recorded her best career finish, tying for seventh at 6-under par. She shot par or better in all three rounds, marking the first time she’s accomplished this in a single tournament. Belchior also posted her second career round in the 60s during the second round, shooting 4-under.

Fellow freshman Moa Stridh also posted her best finish, tying for 10th at 5-under par. She shot a 2-under round on the final day. Stridh’s performance marked her first time shooting par or better in all three rounds of a tournament this season.

Sophomore Samantha Whateley finished tied for 17th at even-par, her seventh top-20 finish. She opened with a 1-under round, her 20th career round at par or better. Freshman Izzy Pellot improved in the final round with a 1-under score, finishing the tournament at 3-over par.

The Bulldogs are scheduled to compete next at the Moon Golf Invitational in Melbourne, Florida, beginning Feb. 16.
