Mississippi State Track Heads to Clemson for Bob Pollock Invitational
Mississippi State’s track and field team will continue its indoor season at the Bob Pollock Invitational, hosted by Clemson in Clemson, South Carolina. The competition begins Friday afternoon and continues through Saturday, with live streams on ACCNX and results available on Flash Results, according to program officials.
The Bulldogs will send 49 athletes to compete in 27 events at the Clemson Indoor Track and Field facility. Notable athletes include Nicholas Fakorede, who will race in the 60-meter dash after finishing in the program’s top five all-time in that event last season. Fakorede will face two competitors who competed in the NCAA Championships 60-meter final last year, sources said.
Sam Navarro, a first-team outdoor All-American in the 800 meters, will run his first half-mile of the season this weekend. Jessicka Woods, also an outdoor All-American, will compete in the 60-meter hurdles. Ramat Jimoh, the bronze medalist in the 800 meters at last year’s outdoor SEC Championships, is set to run her first 800-meter race of the season on Saturday.
Tamiia Fuller and Kyndall Sessom, both tied for the program record in the 60-meter dash, will compete in that event Friday afternoon. The Bulldogs aim to build on their momentum from the season opener two weeks ago, where they secured 11 event wins and posted numerous personal bests and collegiate debuts.
