Mississippi State Track and Field Wraps Up Season Opener at Home

STARKVILLE, Miss. — Mississippi State track and field wrapped up its outdoor season opener Saturday at the Alumni Bulldog Relays, hosted on its home turf. The Bulldogs secured eight event victories and set a program all-time record, according to assistant director of communications Jhordyn Stallworth.

Kaylee Clark highlighted the final day with a personal best throw of 53.429 meters in the women’s javelin, the second-best in school history. The men’s 4×100-meter relay team also claimed victory with a time of 40.64 seconds.

Tuomas Narhi opened his season with a javelin throw of 72.61 meters, while Jayden Thrower made his outdoor triple jump debut with a winning effort of 15.29 meters. Nicholas Fakorede won the 100 meters in 10.30 seconds. Freshmen De’Kayla Simpson and Keayari Lee swept the 400 meters, finishing in 54.69 and 46.24 seconds, respectively.

The meet concluded with Bulldogs sweeping both the men’s and women’s 4×400-meter relays. Mississippi State returns to competition next weekend at LSU’s Battle on the Bayou.
