Mississippi State Men’s Tennis Rises to No. 6 in ITA Rankings

STARKVILLE — Mississippi State men’s tennis has climbed to No. 6 in the latest ITA team rankings, released Tuesday. The Bulldogs moved up one spot from No. 7 in the previous poll, reflecting their strong start to the spring season.

Senior Petar Jovanovic led the way for the Bulldogs, jumping seven spots to No. 6 in singles. He also paired with Benito Sanchez Martinez to earn a No. 6 national doubles ranking.

Other Bulldogs ranked in singles include Mario Martinez Serrano at No. 33, up four spots from No. 37, and Sanchez Martinez at No. 45, a nine-spot jump from No. 54. Bryan Hernandez Cortes rounded out the singles rankings at No. 68.

The Bulldogs’ performance demonstrates consistency and depth early in the season, keeping them among the nation’s top programs. Mississippi State returns to action Saturday, hosting South Alabama and Alabama State at the Rula Tennis Pavilion.
