Mississippi State Finishes Fifth at Schenkel Invitational

STATESBORO, Ga. — Mississippi State finished fifth at the Schenkel Invitational, its third top-five result of the season, with a team score of 11-under 853. The Bulldogs matched their best score to par of the season, according to tournament organizers.

Garrett Endicott led the team with a fifth-place finish after closing with a 1-over 73. He opened the event with back-to-back rounds of 5-under 67. This was Endicott’s third top 10 of the season and his fifth top 20 overall, the organizers said.

Bryson Hughes, competing as an individual, posted his best finish at Mississippi State with a seventh-place showing at 7-under overall. Hughes was the only Bulldog to shoot under par all three days, opening with a 71 before recording consecutive 3-under 69 rounds. He recorded 41 pars and 10 birdies, with the fewest bogeys in the field, according to the tournament results.

Ugo Malcor continued his consistent play with a 17th-place finish, his fifth top 20 of the year. Malcor shot a 1-over 73 in the final round after opening with consecutive 70s. Jackson Skinner tied for 33rd, while Drew Wilson and Ben Kelling finished 56th and 77th, respectively, the results show.

Mississippi State will compete next at the Maridoe Collegiate on March 30-31.
