Mississippi State Alumni Charles Cross, Emmanuel Forbes Set for NFC Championship

Two former Mississippi State football players will be on opposite sides in the NFC Championship game on Sunday. Charles Cross of the Seattle Seahawks and Emmanuel Forbes of the Los Angeles Rams are set to face off at Lumen Field at 5:30 p.m. on Fox.

The Seahawks and Rams split their regular-season meetings. The Rams won at home, 21-19, on Nov. 15, while the Seahawks took the second game, 38-37, at Lumen Field during Week 16.

Both players left their respective divisional playoff games last weekend due to injuries but are expected to play in the championship. Cross has a foot injury, and Forbes has a shoulder injury, according to reports.

Regardless of the NFC title outcome, a Mississippi State alum will participate in Super Bowl LX, which will be played Feb. 11. Both players were first-round draft picks and are among the notable alumni from the Bulldogs’ football program.

The NFC Championship game features the Rams, with a 12-5 record, against the Seahawks, who finished 14-3, marking a matchup of strong postseason contenders.
