Mississippi College’s Bailey Named GSC Pitcher of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Mississippi College senior pitcher Camryn Bailey was named the Gulf South Conference Pitcher of the Week Tuesday, after a standout start to the 2026 softball season, according to the league.

Bailey posted a 3-0 record in the circle, helping the Choctaws secure wins over Texas A&M International, Southeastern Oklahoma, and top-ranked Texas-Tyler. She finished the week with a 2.21 earned run average over 19 innings, allowing seven runs — six earned — on 15 hits while striking out 23 batters.

She opened the season with a dominant performance against Texas A&M International, striking out 11 batters in a complete-game 3-1 victory. The next day, Bailey threw another complete game, recording five strikeouts in seven innings to help Mississippi College beat No. 1 Texas-Tyler, 7-4.

Over the weekend, Bailey faced 84 batters and played a key role in setting the tone for the team during its season-opening stretch. The league also recognized West Florida’s Hannah Harper as Player of the Week and UAH’s Kylie Ballentine as Freshman of the Week.
