Mississippi College Women’s Golf Finishes Sixth at CSU Lady Cougar Invite

Columbus, Georgia — The Mississippi College women’s golf team finished sixth at the CSU Lady Cougar Classic with a total score of 945. Sofia Mendez led the team with a tie for seventh place after posting a 229 (+13) over three rounds, highlighted by a second-round score of 70.

Mendez’s 70 was her best round of the tournament and helped her climb into the top 10. She finished with rounds of 80 and 79 around her standout performance.

Ashlynd Madden tied for 26th place with a total score of 238. Madden opened with a 76, then finished with rounds of 82 and 80. Allie Myers and Sydney Moss both tied for 36th, each with a total of 241. Myers shot rounds of 85, 79, and 77, while Moss posted scores of 79, 80, and 82.

Freshman Ana Quintanilla Gutiérrez improved throughout the event, ending with her best round of 76 in the final round and finishing in a tie for 40th at 244. The team will now shift focus to the Gulf South Conference Tournament, scheduled to begin Monday in Tunica, Mississippi.
