Mississippi College Tennis Teams Earn National Rankings
Clinton, Mississippi — The Mississippi College men’s and women’s tennis programs received national rankings Wednesday, according to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
The Lady Choctaws remain among the top teams in Division II, coming in at No. 6 after extending their undefeated start to the season. Playing in the Gulf South Conference, they have demonstrated depth and consistency across their lineup despite a challenging schedule.
Emily Buchanan, a junior, continues to lead the women’s team, holding the No. 4 spot in singles nationally. Buchanan has been a key performer at the top of the lineup and has contributed significantly in doubles play. Alongside senior Ann Cabot Stockett, Buchanan forms one of Division II’s top doubles pairs, ranked No. 4 nationally. Their partnership has provided stability and critical points in doubles matches.
The men’s team is ranked No. 13 nationally, reflecting a solid season within the Gulf South Conference. The Choctaws have maintained momentum with consistent performances in singles and doubles.
Both programs aim to maintain their rankings as they continue conference play and prepare for postseason activities, including the NCAA Division II Tennis Championships later this spring.
