Mississippi College Men’s Golf Finishes 14th at Shark Invitational

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Mississippi College’s men’s golf team finished 14th at the Shark Invitational, held Tuesday at the Grande Oaks Golf Club. The team posted a total score of 881 in a tournament featuring 11 teams ranked in the top 50 according to SCOREBOARD, including six in the top 25 and three in the top 15, according to the event organizers.

Ben Eichelberger led the Choctaws, tying for 50th with a score of 220 (+7). He shot rounds of 74, 73, and 73. Zach Robertson tied for 55th after finishing with a total of 221 (+8). Robertson opened with a 70, but struggled in the final round with a 79.

Todd Mckie tied for 58th at 222 (+9). After a rough start with a 78, he recovered with a 71 and finished with a 73. Joao Iglesias ended tied for 66th at 225 (+12), showing improvement each round with scores of 74, 76, and 75. Jack Mckie finished tied for 69th with a score of 226 (+13), including rounds of 74 and 78.

The team was led by No. 4 Florida Southern, which won the team title with a score of 831. Colton Swartz claimed the individual crown with a 202 (-11). No. 15 Nova Southeastern finished second at 835, while No. 16 Barry and No. 27 Flagler tied for third at 843.

Mississippi College concludes its regular season at the Music City Invitational in Old Hickory, Tennessee, on March 30, according to team officials.
