Millsaps Men’s Basketball Advances to SAA Tournament Quarterfinals

The Millsaps College men’s basketball team earned a spot in the 2026 SAA Tournament, which will be held Thursday through Saturday at Berry College’s Cage Center in Mount Berry, Georgia. All games will be streamed live with available stats, according to the tournament schedule.

The tournament opens Thursday with No. 4 Millsaps facing No. 5 Southwestern at 4 p.m. Central Time. Later that evening, No. 3 Centre will play No. 6 Sewanee at 6 p.m. On Friday, top seed Rhodes will face the winner of the Millsaps-Southwestern game, while No. 2 Trinity will take on the winner of Centre and Sewanee. The championship game is scheduled for 5 p.m. Saturday.

Millsaps enters the postseason with a 15-10 overall record and a 6-8 mark in conference play. The team is led by junior center Jaxon Toney, who averages 12.1 points and 39 blocks per game. Senior guard Caleb Kent has 128 made field goals and 289 points this season. Junior guard Cameron Lumar averages 10.7 points and leads the team in three-pointers.

Rhodes carries a 21-4 record and is the top seed. Senior Phil Dotson averages 21.2 points and 2.6 assists per game, with 65 points from the free throw line. Junior Shawn Jones Jr. and senior Jackson Huxtable also contribute significantly for the Lynx.

Trinity, with a 20-5 record, is seeking to advance in its postseason run. The team’s sophomore guards, Jackson Lawson and Will Bronson, average 13.9 and 13.5 points per game, respectively. Dean Balo, another key player, averages 11.8 points and 76 assists this season.

Centre College holds a 13-11 record and is led by sophomore Drake Ingram, who averages 15.1 points per game. Nolan Wahl also makes notable contributions with 10.8 points and 169 rebounds. Southwestern, with a 12-13 record, is led by senior guard Shobby Enakpene, who averages 17.3 points and 61 assists, along with Aedan Lewis and Luke Hatcher, who provide rebounding support.

Sewanee, with a 10-15 record, hopes for an upset run. Junior Fletcher Bigham averages 19 points and 11 rebounds per game. Freshman Nikolas Avaliani adds 18.2 points and 91 free throws made this season.
