Millsaps Baseball Players Earn Inaugural SAA Weekly Honors
Canton, Georgia — Millsaps College baseball players Dylon Lozano and Wesley Grant received the Southern Athletic Association’s weekly honors on Monday. Lozano was named pitcher of the week, while Grant earned athlete of the week recognition.
Lozano, a freshman pitcher, pitched four innings in relief Friday, helping the Majors defeat LeTourneau 5-4 in 10 innings. He faced 12 batters, struck out four, and allowed one hit and one run with three walks in his first collegiate appearance.
Grant, a sophomore, posted a .444 batting average over three games (4-for-9), with a 1.000 slugging percentage and a .583 on-base percentage. He recorded two triples, a double, two RBIs, scored three runs, and stole a base. His triple in the 10th inning Friday helped set up the game-winning run in the 5-4 victory.
