Malachi Morgan Named Owl of the Week for Record-Setting Performances

Malachi Morgan, a freshman on the men’s track and field team, was named Owl of the Week for Jan. 12-18, 2026, according to school officials.

During two meets over the weekend, Morgan set three school records. At Saturday’s Samford Open, he jumped 6.58 meters in the long jump and cleared 1.89 meters in the high jump, both of which are also leading marks in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC).

On Sunday at the KMS Invitational, Morgan ran the lead leg of the Owls’ record-setting 4×200-meter relay team. His performances helped the team establish new program standards and led to his recognition as Athlete of the Week.

Malachi Morgan stands 5 feet 11 inches tall and is currently a freshman on the team.
