Kenneth Mills, Brycelyn Townsend Named CCS Rookies of the Week

Jackson, Mississippi — Belhaven University’s track and field team continued its strong start to the outdoor season, with two athletes earning weekly rookie honors from the Collegiate Conference of the South.

Kenneth Mills was named the CCS Rookie Field Athlete of the Week after finishing second in the high jump at the MC Spring Classic. Mills cleared 1.85 meters (6 feet, 0.75 inches). The freshman also posted a 1.94-meter (6 feet, 4.25 inches) jump at the Samford Bulldog Open on Feb. 14, which was among the top marks by a CCS rookie this season.

Brycelyn Townsend received the CCS Rookie Track Athlete of the Week award after finishing fourth in the 100-meter hurdles at the MC Spring Classic. Townsend clocked a time of 16.01 seconds in the event.
