Jones College Ties for Fourth at Chris Clark Invitational

Philadelphia — Jones College improved its score significantly in the second round of the Chris Clark Invitational on Tuesday, helping the team finish tied for fourth at Dancing Rabbit Golf Club. The Bobcats shot a 319 in the first round and a 305 in the second, for a total of 624, which was 48 over par.

The team moved from ninth after the opening round to a tie with tournament host East Central. Meridian State College won the 12-team event with a 602, 26 over par. Gulf Coast finished second with a 611, and Copiah-Lincoln placed third with a 619.

Bastian Graf, a freshman from Germany, led Jones with a total score of 147, including rounds of 74 and 73. His performance earned him a spot on the All-Tournament Team and tied him for second individually. Meridian’s Daniel Young was medalist with a 144, while Gulf Coast’s Jayden Owensby and Northeast’s Olof Behle tied for second with 147 and 149, respectively.

Jones’ other players included Julius Hautmann, who posted an 80-78—158; Josh Tombs, with an 83-77—160; Evan Bass, who scored 84-80—164; and Walker Hall, with an 83-85—168. The next tournament is the Lou Hart Invitational scheduled for March 23-24 at Northwood Country Club in Meridian.
