Jones College Sweeps Four Games at PCB JUCO Softball Showdown
PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. — Jones College’s softball team extended its winning streak to six games by sweeping four contests at the PCB JUCO Showdown. The No. 4-ranked Bobcats started the weekend with a 5-1 victory over No. 3 St. Johns River and followed with wins over Wabash Valley, Roane State, and Shelton State.
Jones hit .344 during the weekend, with six doubles, five home runs, and an impressive 15-for-16 on stolen bases, according to team statistics. Mary Kimble Price hit two home runs, while Farrah James, Addy Shorter, and Laney Little each added homers. Chloe Jenkins, Price, and Logan Mansur led the team with eight hits each.
The Bobcats’ pitching staff recorded 27 strikeouts and posted a 2.25 ERA. Win pitchers included Breelyn Cain, Morgan Landry, Madison Sawyer, and Anna Grace Whitehead, according to team officials.
Jones is set to host No. 10 Kirkwood (1-3) on Monday at Community Bank Park/Gwen Magee Field. This will be the team’s last home game until March 3.
