Jones College Football Signs 22 New Players on National Signing Day

ELLISVILLE — Jones College football signed 22 new players on Wednesday, Feb. 4, as part of Junior College National Signing Day. The recruits include athletes from several states and high schools, strengthening the Bobcats’ roster for the upcoming season.

Second-year head coach Lytrel Pollard and the Bobcats are set to open the 2026 season Thursday, Aug. 27, against Holmes Community College. The new signees feature skill-position players and linemen, adding depth and talent to the team.

The signees include O’Rhyun Lang, a linebacker from Humphreys County; Jordyn Smith, a safety from Velma Jackson; and Anthony Townsend, an outside linebacker from Thomas Edwards. On the defensive line, Maurice Walker from Foley, Alabama, and Amare Porter from Lawrence County joined the team. Wyatt Jones, a kicker and punter from Sumrall, also signed.

The offensive additions include CJ Pruitt, a defensive back from Perry Central; Kaden Calhoun, an offensive lineman from Colquitt County, Georgia; and Eli Smith, a long snapper from West Marion. Trent Clark and Judd Harmon, both wide receivers from West Marion, also committed. Trey Bridges, a tight end from Laurel, and Malik Woodland, a defensive end from Northeast Jones, were among the offensive and defensive recruits.

The class also features quarterbacks, linebackers, and linemen from various schools, including KD Davis from Tylertown, Terrell Surtain Jr. from Warren Easton, and Carson Lyons from Northeast Jones. The team continues to build its roster ahead of the upcoming season.
