Joe Haze Austin Named OWL of the Week for Men’s Basketball

Joe Haze Austin of the University of the Ozarks men’s basketball team was named OWL of the Week for March 2-8, 2026. The sophomore forward delivered a career-high performance in the team’s first-ever NCAA Division III playoff game last Friday.

Despite a 78-66 loss against No. 2 seed Emory University, Austin led all scorers with 32 points. He shot 14-27 from the field, including four three-pointers. He also contributed eight rebounds and six steals in the game.

Austin’s effort stands out as a highlight for the program’s historic postseason debut, according to the school. The award recognizes his performance during the week.
